Social Media Pro’s #5

It’s fabulous really!! It allows you to have so much precision in exactly what you are looking for in your followers as well as new users who may have been needing your brand and they didn’t even know it yet.
So now that you have your page set up and an online presence going, how do I get more!?

Well, there’s many ways to achieve this, however the most obvious would be advertising.

Now I’m not talking traditional/older forms of advertising like flyers, magazine and new paper articles etc. I’m talking about advertising that has been designed specifically for social media.

Times have changed and everything is slowly starting to shift digitally. So social media being the fabulous thing that it is, has jumped at this opportunity to meet users where they are most and target them with unique ads that they are more likely to actually see and actually be interested in.

This is because social media advertising is very direct and can be tailored to reach your exact target market.
It’s fabulous really!!

It allows you to have so much precision in exactly what you are looking for in your followers as well as new users who may have been needing your brand and they didn’t even know it yet. From the general elements such as age and gender, to the more specific details such as hobbies, relationship status, job specifics, locations etc.

I know advertising in general can always be slightly overwhelming and has the impression that it’ll be really expensive!

The nice thing about advertising via social media is that it allows your advert to be customised so it fits almost exactly what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend.

This relates to:

  1. the locations of your ad ie. Instagram, Facebook, etc
  2. the length of time you would like your ad to run for
  3. the budget you have set aside for your ad.

There are of course some necessary restrictions in place – and rightfully so.
I mean you can’t expect an ad to run for 1 month on a R100 budget or post some dodgy content that legally can’t be advertised.

Now I know advertising platforms can sometimes be a bit sticky when it comes to boosting a competition or giveaway you might be running! So just make sure you stick between the guidelines, word things carefully and you should be a-for-away!

You ready for the great news!?

Facebook used to have this rule where no more than 20% of your visual can be text otherwise your ad doesn’t run as effectively as it potentially could.

BUT… As of September 2020, this rule is no longer!!

Not only does this open up so much more opportunity for your ads reach, but the freedom for you to design posts exactly as you wish without this 20% rule lurking over you!

Just another reason why social media advertising is the way to go.
They literally want you to succeed!

The results you receive are actually mind-blowing sometimes, and through a bit of testing here and there to see what/where works best, you can really get some great brand exposure.

I have no doubt almost all of you have been the target of some sort of social media advertising and therefore know just how effective it can be. I mean there’s always something irresistible that pops up every now and you just can’t help but to to hit that ‘learn more’ or ‘view profile’ button.

The perfect example of how effective it can be – when it’s done right!

So don’t hesitate to give it a try – even if it’s just a little one – and see the results for yourself!

As the saying goes…
You gotta risk it to get the biscuit 😉
